PORE aka DJ Poor hosted his own art exhibit at Flat Iron Arts Building in Wicker Park bringing his graffiti roots off the streets and under the roof for display. The man of many talents has been bringing his creative visions to life beyond the production boards and has been using the canvas for a change of medium this time around. As sole production contributor to Esohel‘s upcoming LP “Dopamine“, it was only right the two did what they do best live for the night. An intimate impromptu performance by Esohel coincided with a live painting of the Dopamine inspired art piece wall. Look for Dopamine to impact soon and visit Flat Iron 1579 N. Milwaukee (3rd floor) to find all of PORE’s art pieces on display.
On the 2nd drop off Dopamine, Esohel finds inspiration for “Las Llaves” by tapping into his Mexican roots all with a first generation American perspective. The bilingual lyrics Esohel lays over the bouncy guitar samples set by DJ Poor merge a humble passion and hunger, fueled by the drive to fulfill any immigrant parents’ dream, to acheive what they couldn’t without taking the sacrifices in vain. Esohel and DJ Poor’s collaborative LP “Dopamine” is due this Summer 2014.
Esohel collides over production by DJ Poor to switch up the direction that Hip Hop’s heading in on this one. With guns, women, and violence being today’s content of choice, “Chase It” reminds us that one’s intent and aim decides the direction and distance obtained. Esohel is back to work on a new colaborative effort titled “Dopamine” produced entirely by DJ Poor which is slated to drop Summer 2014.

Esohel originally released the single “Back At It” a few years ago off his LP release “Global Warming” with DJ Poor providing the production for a majority of the album. This chopped and screwed version was recently stumbled upon and eS decided to bring it to light. With that chemistry, both Esohel and DJ Poor are linking back up to work on a new colaborative effort titled “Dopamine” which is slated to drop Summer 2014.
It will be officially going down Wednesday 4/9/14 for the #RespectTheMidwest Concert @ Subterranean located 2011 W. North Ave. Chicago, IL.
