The wait is now officially over as Esohel and Ricky Dubs bring you the visuals for “Silence Is Golden“. After a few setbacks such as the hard drive carrying the footage suffering a crash, and a lengthy recovery of that footage, Beast Factory Films has done it again. Esohel’s ”Silence Is Golden” features fellow Chicago brethren, Add-2, who joins him over Ricky Dubs production on this socially conscience driven song which now has been given visual life with the help of director Sense Hernandez. The single is off of Esohel and Ricky Dubs “On Purpose With A Purpose” project and is now available free download on AudioMack.com and for purchase on iTunes.
While out in Austin, Texas we got to meet some amazing people, ate great food, and seen some awesome sights. The weather was consistantly in the 70′s and sunny which made leaving Chicago, at the time in the 30′s/40′s, easy to do and hard to come back to. The music was definately the highlight of the SXSW experience with 6th street being the center of the madness which only grew as the week went into its last days.
After a couple days in Austin, Ricky Dubs and I got to rock the stage at GoWhereHipHop’s Coup De Grace Event and were hit with some footage captured by the good people at PursuitOfDopeness. This marked the first show we’ve done in SXSW and only left us with the urge to come back next year for more.
Chicago was heavy in numbers out in Austin with plenty of artists rocking events left and right. The vibes and energy was all positive while out there and highly recommend anyone who hasn’t went to SXSW to make it a priority to do so whether you are an artist or just a music lover. Hopefully by the time you go, the Team and I will be headlining a few events we can catch you at. For now enjoy some pics from the goodtimes out in Austin.
Esohel takes on another remake this time over Pusha T’s “Blocka”, produced by Chicago’s own Young Chop which features Popcaan and Travis Scott. On this remake Esohel feeds the fix the fiends crave while letting it be known that his hustle stops for none.
Off upcoming remake mixtape “Nacho Usual” (Spring 2013)
Esohel picks up where Nas left off on “Gave You Power” with his latest remake titled “High Off Power”. The original song tells a story through the point of view of a gun which eventually is used to serve its purpose. On the remake Esohel continues where the classic ends painting imagery of the trials and tribulations the power of the gun brings.
Look for Esohel’s remake mixtape “Nacho Usual” to drop spring 2013.
Esohel decides to release something fresh out the batch in honor of the day of love. When asked why he chose to drop a remake to ASAP’s feature heavy cut “Fucking Problem”, Esohel’s simple states”for the fuck of it”.
Project1871.com caught up with Esohel a few months back for The Essence Show @ WHPK 88.5 FM (Chicago IL.) for an interview to talk about his influences, projects, and the moves he has been making to become a notable in the underground scene.
